About me
I’ve graduated University, and it was one of the best times of my life so far. I met some amazing people, learnt new skills, how to live away from home etc. I stayed in a bubble for three years, away from the realities of what’s around the corner. ‘The Real World’. People kept telling me about this ‘real world’ but I didn’t want to know…now I wish I did.
When I left Uni, I fell in to a lull of nothingness. I felt I did all I could in my three years to achieve what I could and I’m really please with my result. The work experience placements were tough; being the dogs body, doing coffee runs, completing tedious tasks and dealing with stressy journalists and editors who would hopefully be my boss one day, whilst not getting paid and in some cases not getting travel expenses- so I was paying to work there!
Then there’s the final year. My, it was tough if you wanted to succeed. I suffered from really bad panic attacks, having frequent trips to the doctors and plenty of tears. Was it worth it? Yeh, I reckon it was. All negatives aside, the positives were very high. Until it comes to leaving the ‘bubble’ and becoming a graduate; job searching is a whole different game!
That’s why I felt compelled to write a blog about my experiences at University and what comes after Uni life. Not everyone is lucky enough to fall in to a career straight away and the search for one can be very daunting. So, i’m going to try and lend a helping hand. Graduates- you’re not alone.

Hiya.
Didn’t know you’d set this up.
I’ll read this with interest. What you’ve written so far is all good stuff.
